Meet Our Team

Valley Veterinary Clinic was started by Dr. Michael Bland in the mid-1980s. He ran his clinic from 120 Hamilton River Road on 1 week per month basis for approximately 10 years.
In 1995 Dr. Liesl Bland purchased the clinic from her father and continued to move the practice forward, aiming at full time veterinary care for the Goose Bay area. That goal was accomplished in 2008 when Dr. Rebecca Jackson joined the team.
The practice moved to it’s current location, 394 Hamilton River Road in September 2010.  Since then we have modernized our clinic by adding in new diagnostic equipment including a digital and dental x-ray unit and all new blood machines. We are very proud of our new modern facility.

In 2018, Dr. Jackson purchased the clinic and expanded it further in 2020 to include a private comfort room, expanded kennel spaces, grooming facility, two U-Bath stations and space for adult obedience classes and puppy classes.

  • Dr. Rebecca Jackson works as the only veterinarian at the practice currently.
  • Nicki Combden joined the team in March of 2010, and now works as the practice manager.
  • Alison Barnes-Peters is a LPN who is now pursuing a degree and works as the senior technician.
  • Amanda Blake works as our front desk receptionist.
  • Cindy Bowers joined our team working as our grooming assistant and she is now working as a technician.
  • Natasha Hillier has recently joined our team working as a technician.
  • Jacqueline Kenny joined our team working as a receptionist and she is now working as a technician.
  • Trina Pilgrim currently works as our only full-time groomer.
  • Keisha Penney works as a part-time groomer.
  • Jennifer Wells works as our grooming receptionist/assistant.
  • Heather White now works as one of our front desk receptionists.
  • Shavonne Dyson works as our veterinary assistant.

We are hoping to expand the services offered at Valley Veterinary Clinic as the local economy continues to grow.
